I actually started and nearly finished this game about two years ago. With Jay's help we dusted it off, polished 'er up and put it out there for the world to enjoy. Thanks to MaxGames.com for sponsoring our game.

    Enjoy!

Just an fyi, I beat the contend scenario, but it gave me credit for beating the Siege scenario.

  3. Zaigo says:

/\ Same here, scenario badges are flipped (beating siege gave me contend-achievement).

  4. dominate330 says:

I keep getting the little white loading pointer; it won't stop and it is keeping me from playing.

  5. Earl says:

I keep getting the same problem.
After 'King Cobalt' takes a turn, sometimes the cursor stays as the 'thinking' icon and I can't move.

  6. jeltevl says:

get all achievements of this game now.

I have 24 clickshake achievements right now.

  7. SteveCastro says:

    Nice job jeltevl!

Thanks for the bug reports guys.

    @Earl + dominate
    1. Does it freeze your browser?
    2. Which browser are you using, with version?
    3. Can you get the Flash version number (see instructions at http://www.clickshakegames.com/faq.php#game-problem)?
    4. About how often would you say it happens? Every 3 turns? Every 10 minutes? Toward the end of the game or sometimes even at the beginning? Etc.

  8. Earl says:

    Firefox 3.6.9.
    Flash: 10,1,102,65 installed
It doesn't freeze the browser, and doesn't even freeze that flash instance. I can still click the 'X' button to restart the game. I simply can't do anything on the play field.
Sometimes it happens very early. Sometimes later on. It always happens right after the computer takes his move (since it clearly isn't really still "thinking", it's as if it just isn't giving control back).
The frequency varies tremendously. I had it constantly bugging on me, was then able to get most of the achievements (hassle-free), and then had it continuously bugging again.

    Most perplexing. :)

  9. GREAT1 says:

hey check out my new acheivement!!!

  10. SteveCastro says:

    Nice job Great1!

Earl, thanks a ton for the info. I've never once seen this issue, so it's kinda odd. Can you try updating your Flash version to the latest one and see if you still get the issue at all?

  11. xXincognitoXx says:

    Great Game

  12. darkbluemullet says:

Hi. Just to say, I am running the same software or Earl and keep getting the same problem every time I try to play. :(

  13. SteveCastro says:

If you guys could help me track down the problem, I would appreciate it because I'm not seeing the problem at all even once.

Can y'all update your Flash version and see if that makes any difference?
Does the problem ever happen in the very first game since loading up, or only after at least one game has been played?
Does it only happen after cancelling the game since loading?

  14. Earl says:

Unfortunately, I can't try again until Tuesday (I'm currently in the states. I was able to update flash on my computer from here thanks to the wonders of SSH tunneling and X11 forwarding, but it's a wee bit too slow to actually play the game over. :) )
In the meantime, here's the best I can answer your follow-up questions:
The problem can happen right after loading up. I've had it happen after canceling the game, and also after outright reloading. I've had it happen while playing very slowly (in case it was a race condition like with Chp 3), and when playing very fast.
I've had it happen every game in a row for at least half a dozen tries, and I've gone through multiple games without it happening once.
On Tuesday I'll try it again with the latest flash, but I doubt it's the version, unless dominate and mullet are running the same version.

  15. darkbluemullet says:

Hi. I allready had the latest flash to start with. I have the same thing every time. The enemy and I can build like 4 walls each then it gets to the the enemies turn and the little clock just keeps spinning. It's as though the engine is calculating the next move but can't execute. It's a bit odd as the game loads and starts fine. I will try it on Kongregate tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. Btw, it's FireFox 4 I'm using, if that helps?

  16. dominate330 says:

Sorry I'm a bit late but I'll try to help. BTW, it seems that on the banner of this page, when you click on the games icon (not just scroll over it to get dropdown), stake your claim is not on there.

    1. Does it freeze your browser? No, can still restart within the game and even get the outlines where the wall would be built when I mouse over areas in the game.
    2. Which browser are you using, with version? Google Chrome 10.0.648.204
    3. Can you get the Flash version number (see instructions at http://www.clickshakegames.com/faq.php#game-problem)? 10,2,154,25
    4. About how often would you say it happens? Every 3 turns? Every 10 minutes? Toward the end of the game or sometimes even at the beginning? Etc. Varying frequency like Earl. I just started the game on default settings and I got through about 3/4 of a map, so hopefully that answers your other post. When I played a while ago I got through probably 3 or more maps before it started.

Hope that helps, let me know if you need more info.

  17. SteveCastro says:

Dominate, it's interesting that you say you can get the "wall outlines" while the game is stuck.
    - Are you saying that you see the clock spinning icon but you get the dotted lines still but just can't place any walls?
    - Does it show the sundial is on your side when this happens?

Others: When the game is stuck,
    - does the sundial show it's your turn or your opponent's?
    - can you see dotted lines but just not place a wall?

  18. dominate330 says:

Correct, I get all the outlines, but can't place walls. The sundial is on my side when this happens.

  19. darkbluemullet says:

Steve. Every time it happens, it seems that it's when the enemy has just taken a square and it switched to your turn. The sun dial is on my side, I can see the line (as mentioned before) for where I want to place the wall but the clock is still spinning. I can seem to play for a little longer now but I still can't complete a a level yet. Check the comments on Kogregate, they are saying the same thing.

It seems that the enemy takes his turn, it switched to you but the game is still computing the enemy turn??

  21. Earl says:

Huh. So far (since getting back), I've been unable to reproduce it. Odd.

  22. darkbluemullet says:

Iv'e found a quick fix Steve!!!! (It is still happening to me) When the little just keeps spinning and you can't place a wall, just pause the game, unpause and you can then place the wall. Maybe worth putting this in the notes on Kong and NG as a temp fix? I dunno :P

  23. SteveCastro says:

Thanks for the tip darkblue. That could be very useful. When you say pause, are you talking about hitting the X button and then unpausing by clicking cancel to continue the game?

    - When you pause and unpause and you can place a tile, does it still show a spinning cursor?
    - Also, does the game every run slowly on your computer in general? Disregard the second or two the computer takes to determine its move, I mean does it cause your computer in general to slow down, or is your computer itself kinda old/slow to begin with?

FYI, I just uploaded a new version (1.5) with a few tweaks based on your info so far. I've narrowed down the problem but I'm still not sure of the ultimate root cause, so maybe this build will fix it and maybe it won't. Let me know.

Thanks again for all you guys' help.

  24. darkbluemullet says:

Yes, I meant clicking X and then cancel.

Yes, although I can place a tile, the little cursor still spins.

No, the game runs fine on my computer. I never really have any trouble running any flash games at all.

To be honest, it's maybe better putting your time and energy into the "main event". In my opinion at least. If you put a little note in the game info or something, that should be enough to keep people happy! :)

  25. darkbluemullet says:

P.S. The game is running much, much better now. Happened only once during 2 complete levels and I just had to pause to get around it. Problem basically fixed if you ask me!

  26. mechingas says:

ehm, steve or darkbluemulet can you help me? im youst missing 2 achivements and i was about to get one when my turn suddently freeze :C so close! anyways it had happend me a lot of times, but sometimes i joust click a lot of times on the space i want to put something and it worked i dont know if it was just good luck or not

  27. spookspoon says:

Maybe you should have just read their posts before postng. I recall them saying that all you have to do is pause the game with X the canceling it.

  28. crsunlimited says:

Achievement for "Beat Content Scenario" is still only rewarding from Siege Scenario.

  29. brussels1 says:

i beat the siege or contend scenarios on both classic and capture but dont get the acheivement what gives ?

  30. SteveCastro says:

FYI, I took darkblue's advice and stopped working on fixing this game since there is a workaround and so I could focus on Reemus and Ballads. I still eventually want to get this game fixed one day. Just testing it on my mom's older computer and still not reproducing. :(
