  1. LMFAO says:

do somebody here know about this games???

  2. spookspoon says:

well, I have mincraft (I am playing it right now) and battlefield 2. I have no idea what teenage fortress is, unless your mistaking it for team fortress.

  3. LMFAO says:

oh yes,i'm ashamed for writing it that way srry

  4. LMFAO says:

so do you play online n any game

  5. Earl says:

The problem with online games is that, unless you can get a bunch of friends playing at the same time, you're stuck playing with strangers.

    Strangers. Don't. Cooperate.
So any game based on team cooperation becomes, by definition, entirely pointless.

  6. spookspoon says:

not completely, I mean of course there are strangers who dont do anything to cooperate. nevertheless, most of the people buy those games for fun, so surely there are players who are interested in winning. I've played battlefield 2 for a lot of time, and I know whenever you hear a car aproaching you should always get out of its way even if its from your team, cause some players wont care if they kill someone from their team. (although that usually results in a kick vote) but its not like its impossible to do teamwork with strangers.

Minecraft is a different story. it has online multiplayer mode, but there are a lot of people who tend to destroy other's creations (also known as greifers) so I play offline mode. Its pretty neat :)

So responding your question: yes, I know all those three games.

  7. Earl says:

To be honest, TF2 is the only one of those three I've really played much.
People pick the class they like, rather than the class their team needs.
Medics don't pay attention to who needs the healing. Nobody covers snipers. (For that matter, snipers don't cover you)
And while although everyone's happy to make sure of the teleporters, nobody wants to keep the engineer(?) safe while he's building them.

Sure, everyone wants to win. But they basically try to win by themselves. :)

  8. spookspoon says:

well, thats true. but havent you ever seen one of the most common duos? medic and heavy?

  9. Earl says:

    Indeed I have.
And considering how many medics I've flaregunned while they were in the midst of an ubercharge, I still feel quite confident in saying that nobody covers anyone. :)

  10. LMFAO says:

well i'm sniper at tf2 and i've got a bunch of friends playing with me,same as battlefield 2 so i've been betrayed twice but from a friend from my friend

  11. spookspoon says:

well earl, perhaps your right, but wouldn't your friends do the same as strangers? not covering you?

  12. Earl says:

    Heh. Of course not!
I don't often have time for online games (and neither do they, so that makes it even harder to play at the same time), but for any co-op game, we look out for each other.
Whether it be in the form of unloading all your ammo in Borderlands, or charging into battle as Wei Yan, to take on the hordes yourself while your bud gets away!

Co-op/team games are far more fun with friends, because you want them to keep going and have fun as well. :)

  13. Darkroot says:

It is a game and people don't really bother much with winning when there isn't an incentive or they are just playing for fun. If you want a more serious game then just join a serious server or a clan, really it's not that hard. I find playing with friends incrementally more fun than playing with strangers, especially with games like tf2 were you probably won't end up on the same team anyway.

For minecraft it depends on your friends, but unless your friends are amazingly creative or dedicated it's not that much more interesting. Maybe more interesting in single player survival servers. But I don't own the game so I don't really know.

Battlefield would be the exception where playing with friends might be more fun.

But in the end it really depends on the type of friends you have, mine are pretty boring or busy so I have biased perspective on the issue.

  14. spookspoon says:

    to those how play TF2:

any of you ever played in a SAXTON HALE server? its really cool. (and funny)

  15. LMFAO says:

i don't like taht server because i'm banned from that server and every person that i play with betray me :(

  16. spookspoon says:

how can you be betrayed there? you gotta stop lying.

  17. LMFAO says:

i was just anwsering to that earl post that said nobody covers anyone

  18. spookspoon says:

    oh ok, sorry :)

btw saxton hale seems to be the new chuck norris

  19. spookspoon says:

hey earl, (or anyone else for that matter) do you have a hat that isnt the ghastly gibus?

  20. Darkroot says:

I have 15 non-ghastly gibus hats for hat fortress.

  21. spookspoon says:

    you got the pyro beanie?

  22. Darkroot says:

Nope, here is my backpack http://www.tf2items.com/id/lightroot if you are curious.

  23. spookspoon says:

nice, since when have you been playing?

  24. Darkroot says:

    Since 2007-2008.

  25. Darkroot says:

    Edit: Double post my bad.

  26. Bopoo says:

I am also playing minecraft offline.

  27. spookspoon says:

hmm, so thats why you have so much vintage items. Ive been playing ever since it became free :D the limitations are really uncool though. but just because I have little time playing the game, doesnt mean I dont know anything about it. Im pretty good at playing. fav guys are spy, soldier, scout, and demoman.

  28. LMFAO says:

guys, i don´t remember changing this forum´s name

  29. xXincognitoXx says:

    Reffering to the actuall topic:
I will say that TF2 is a GREAT game that is fun to play and has a casual tone to it (ie you won't enter a lobby and hear a 7 year old yelling "N00B U SUK AT DIS CAS U A n0oB"), Also it is free, so thats a plus. best suggestion.

Minecraft is a good median and is a wonderful game. It is creative and you can easily spend all day (let alone entire months) completely emmersed in it. One thing I have noticed though is that it is best to have a friend own it too so that you can show someone your creations and get worshiped for them. BTW full version $15 or get the old version free (sacrificing losts o cool stuff though)

I'm guessing your talking about the new Battlefield and for that I have to say that it is more serious (if you understand that). It does have pimped graphics and gameplay but it will cost you $60. As for any of the older ones, sorry cant help ya.

I would say get TF2 for free, play it, have fun, and then maybe swing around and get minecraft (either full or free). Enjoy your gaming and these two can easily last you awhile. Then after all that, get battlefield.
    :) hope it helped
