I just beat The Ballads of Reemus and I have to ask...is this all there is to the game? I mean, clearly it's set up for sequels, but...I'm feeling a little let down. All that time, anticipation, waiting...and for ten dollars I got, what felt to me, like a slightly elongated version of a normal Reemus game with voice acting. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just let down...and I'm wondering if I'm the only one.
I would agree that the game is not huge but I do however feel that compared to similar priced games that are out there, Ballads is incredibly polished and well made. The dialogue alone makes the game stand out from the crowd for me, as very few games even bother for fully voiced dialogue. The puzzles are clever and the characters are funny. That, coupled with mini-games and achievements and I think that the games is worth the money. Sometimes it's about quality and less about quantity. In my opinion anyway. Sorry to hear that you feel let down but I bear in mind that this is the debut Click Shake full game.
Damaia,
Depending on how you play there's a couple things that you may have missed and might enjoy that aren't in the typical Several Journeys game.
* Did you get all 8 in-game achievements? The side quests have their own little stories and can be fun to track down and complete.
* You can use all the items on all of the clickable spots in the world and there are a lot of funny lines for the different combinations.
In terms of length, a lot of people are getting 6-12 times the length of the other Reemus games.
btw Steve i love shape switcher , play it everyday . on other news would it be ok if i did some publicity about the Ballads of Reemus and chpt 4 on a game i regularly play its a mmo strategy game on the internet . i would talk about the ballads and post a link to here and to where they can play it . just some free advertisement for you guys
I haven't gotten all the achievements yet, although I do plan on going back and trying to get them all. I will admit, there is a lot that made me smile and laugh. Don't get me wrong guys, I still think it's good. I just really got excited and it feels like it fell a little short. Probably my own fault for getting my hopes up. No hard feelings, just had to get my feedback out there.
Mostly yeah, it just felt rather short. It was lots of fun for what there was though! :)
@Damaia Don't feel down, I mean some people (like me) can't even play the game because we need to buy it.
@beewyka Well my boyfriend bought a copy so I could get a free one. But the months and months of hype just made me expect a longer game. I'm still really glad it was made and I got to play it. Just my total time through, without walk through (without all achievements also), was about 3 hours, if that. Still, I did enjoy it and I recommend purchase whenever you get the funds together. ^_^
