I've been thinking about this lately and wondered what you guys think. What do you find more interesting...
1.A fairly linear storyline with multiple locations. You travel to many screens, but the story outcome is pre-determined.
2.A small world, maybe 4 screens long but completely open world where the storyline is completely controlled by your decisions.
Option 1 is how Reemus games are laid out. Though I have an idea for a game using option 2, I'm just curious if anyone would even care about something like that. Would exploring a small world over and over to find potential story lines be fun or get boring after a couple times through?
Discuss!
I think you guys should experiment with idea #2 and see how it goes. It sounds cool. I still like the Reemus game's layout though.
Obviously, I like Reemus games the way they are.
However, in a new franchise (or one-shot), it'd be great to be able to really experiment with different ways to solve puzzles. Kinda a cross between point-and-click games and sandbox games that are so popular with the kids these days, eh?
if you red my new post on "CLICK IT!!!!!" it would be cool if you guys had an mmorpg or mmo game that used all the worlds from reemus, small favor, and the visitor
Actually Tman, maybe that already exists and we just haven't launched it yet. Maybe. You didn't hear that from me.
A World would be awesome.
Even a mini short of world instead of a menu to get to different games so you go via the mini world to travel to game locations. Nothing big just adding extra bit of fun.
Option #2 would work really well but there have to be a helluvalot of options and possibilities.
What would be the ultimate but would detract from "Classic Reemus" would be an online universe where you created your own "Reemus style" character and interacted with other users. This could be a feature just for this site and it would drive up the traffic enormously.
Think of it as an 2d world chat room for the users. Having challenges that unlocked achievements would be fantastic, especially if you had to work togther to get them.
Sounds far fetched but maybe an idea for the distant future.
#2 would be great. I love your idea darkbluemullet of the 2d chat room and us having to work together to unlock stuff. I quite like MMO styled games.
Wait a minute... I just realized something. Jay! You've lost your Ballads emblem! You won't get to play the game when it's released!
Ha ha knowing Earl (which I don't) he would! Why have you lost it out of curiosity?
There I own it again. Steve does this mean I owe you an Arby's combo with upsized drink?
Arby's from my experience < regurgitated baby vomit mixed with banana onion juice.
So the next game might be a free roaming non-linear game?
The only thing I every REALLY liked from Arby's would have to be there chicken shakers (loved them) and then they also have AMAZING fries, but all-in-all, I also dislike Arby's.
good fries, usualy a ok burger, and a drink, over all ehh.. last resort fast food resturant
I just don't like fast food, period. Except Long John Silvers and Chick-fil-a.
Yes, Jay, I'll take one Beef N Chedddar.
I love Arby's but overall I'm trying to eat a lot healthier and don't do too much fast food myself. I completely avoid fried french fries and donuts and never go to McDonald's or Taco Bell. I love me some subway though.
Mmmmmm Subway 12" steak n cheese with onions, lettuce n mayo on white toasted please...... oh and with a large coke!
