Does anyone else what the Anime "Fullmetal Alchemist". Either the older series or the newer "Brotherhood" series that just ended?
The older series was pretty decent for the most part, but it was really really messed up towards the very end.
The rest of it? I didn't mind them straying from the manga. I even liked some of the changes (homunculi being the constant reminder of terrible mistakes? not bad!). But I didn't want to know what was on the other side of the gate; at least, not if they were going to make it so absurd. :)
As for Brotherhood, I've been watching it on Netflix (as they get it). I think I'm about 3/4 of the way through. Some of the animation and voices seem a bit off (particularly weird when it comes to the same people doing some of those voices), but the story's better.
I just finished Brotherhood (i've been watching the North American Premieres) and I personally felt that it was better then the first. I'm SO happy that they actually followed the manga since that was the real story that I bled for. I own the entire DVD collection for both and some of the Manga and I'm happy to say that the ending in Brotherhood does not suck like the first.
