If there was one project you'd love to see ClickShake make, what would it be?
Hmmm, I would say Ballads Of Ree... Let me think. It's difficult because the CSG style is suited so well to what you guys do already. Something epic and fast. This game for example -> http://www.kongregate.com/games/EvilDog/road-of-the-dead is something that takes your breath away. Visually stunning and relentless (and their first game). However, your art and characters can work on so many levels. A game in the style of Angry birds or even an RPG would both work well. I'll come back to this but there are some ideas to get the ball rolling.
I don't know... I love the current stuff.
Maybe a different form of Point and Click Genre.
Like say... something like this? http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/574241
Or maybe a strategy game...
E.G Tower Defense would be cool or a game like this http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/543006
Maybe nobody else will like my ideas...
But overall I like the games you are putting out there at the moment but if you are looking to branch off into more types of games these would be MY suggestions.
After some thought and reviewing Jay's exact words I realised he didn't mention actuality moving into a different form of game but a dream project (hence the title).
I don't know about a dream project. A new Visitor / Small Favor Game?
I like the idea of a point and click game where you would be a world famous spy / assassin and that you would receive messages on your computer telling you your different missions. Like say, infiltrate a world-famous science facility and stealing a... I don't know... mm.... hard drive with information for your employer. Of course there would be some catches on the mission, like a steel door you need to get in but you don't have the key.
Again... just my ideas.. other people might not like them.
A point and click Detective game actually sounds quite interesting. More grittier than Reemus and with darker humour. I like the idea of receiving cases through your e-mail. An office which can be travelled to at any point. Accessing your case files to trigger cases/levels. A seedy, dark game that involves finding clues, interrogating suspects/witnesses, using the criminal underground for leads. DON'T ask me why but when I try to picture the main character, I picture the 2 crows in an over-coat from Ballads!? L.A. Noire style where the cut-scenes would be 50's style newspaper healines: "Dim-Wit Detective Arrests Monkey After Murder At Zoo!" What does everyone think? Good idea DK!
Interesting! Yes that's more what I'm asking. Themes you'd want us to explore. I have a bunch of ideas and hearing what you'd like to play will help me decide which one to push to the top of the pile.
"Wentworth" is a light fairy tale adventure, so I definitely would be open to doing something a bit darker in the next game. I too like the idea of a spy game.
A dream project in general? I'm not sure. I'd have to think about that.
What I'd especially like to see next though is easy: A sequel (in style, if not story) to Zee and the Alien Machine.
Something with the same visual style, but a variety of locations. Even if it's (roughly) the same number of screens as most clickshake games, something with the idea of actually going around.
So, I guess, Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders, except not boring and confusing. :D
(Although, if it were an option, a sequel in story/continuity in addition to visual style would be nice, because I rather liked Zee and his roommate)
Just gonna through this game name out there now.... D.I. Earl & The Curious Case Of The Dark Blue Mullet....
of course my dream project would be reemus 5.....
but i liked the detective idea of darkbluemullet as well so i am also happy if you do something like that.
