Looking for a weekend getaway to have fun with the whole family? A romantic place to bring your sweatheart? A quiet place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city?
Then come to Camp Happy, where you can hike through the mountains or just relax by the campfire, swim in the lake or watch wildlife in their natural habitat. What are you waiting for? The wilderness at Camp Happy is waiting for you!
You can rest assured that an experienced team of park rangers will be on the look out for bears and wild boars and will be protecting you during your camping experience.
TWO MORE CAMPERS GO MISSING!
Despite assurances from the staff at Camp Happy that the park is completely safe, two more campers have gone missing this past weekend.
Police reports have cited finding multiple badly mauled animal carcasses in the forest interior. Constable Peter Jones is "concerned about the possibility of a large predator roaming the grounds" saying the animal attacks are "unlike anything seen in these parts before.".
But those warnings have done little to dissuade the weekend warriors from heading out into the wilderness.
"Until the campgrounds tells me to leave, I'm stayin'!" said camper Henry Manchild. "I only get two weekends off a year so unless I'm told otherwise, I'm going to roast my weenies and enjoy the rest of my stay."
To help ease concerns Camp Happy officials are offering a discount to anyone who wants to come to the grounds to enjoy the upcoming long weekend.
CAMPERS ADVISED TO STAY NORTH OF PINE TRAIL
Cougars have been reported near Camp Happy's southern grounds and campers are advised to stay north of the Pine Trail.
Normally cougars live much further south and have not been a threat to campers, but "something seems to have them spooked" says head ranger Rob Morris. "They normally don't stray very far from their territory, so it's very unusual to have so many sightings this far north. One of our rangers saw a cougar wounded and apparently scared. Very odd for this region's largest predator."
Rangers will be monitoring the area and are armed with tranquilizers to ensure the cougars do not enter the busier northern campgrounds. Morris says he feels confident they can keep the situation under control and that closing the south campgrounds was only a precaution.
Stay tuned for the latest reports on the situation.
