The demise of Flash has brought back many gaming memories, especially Reemus.

I wondered if this forum was ever looked at and how everyone was doing in 2020?

I hope you are all well!

So, there never really was an official "goodbye" post or anything for CSG, it just stagnated. But I had the opportunity to ask Jay about it on a recent Ballads 2 Kickstarter update (Yes, it's still happening!) and this is what he said.

"Essentially the gaming space changed on us, browser switched to mobile and we couldn't transition fast enough. I ran out of money and had to get another job. I didn't want to hamper Steve so I left Clickshake to re-evaluate my situation. Took me a few years but I'm happy I made it back!"

So it sounds like although Clickshake might be dead, Jay and Steve are still in the industry and working on games!

So I'm not 100% sure if this goes in this forum or not but it felt like the best place to put it.

Anyways, so I'm going into next Fall Semester of college as a Junior Computer Science Major, and my desire is to get into game development and programming. As such, I really want to play around with game development like click and point games (they're my fave type of web game) on the side, to give me more outside the classroom experience and was hoping that I could get a few ideas on how best to go about doing this (especially if Jay or Steve answer this, I really admire your guys' games).

I guess my first question would be, though, what would be the best type of software to use for this type of game development?

Any other tips and tricks from anyone at all are greatly appreciative.

Google+ has this sweet feature where you can easily share your screen, your webcam and your voice with your social network.

Jay and I just used it today and it's super helpful for our business.

So we'd like you guys to follow us on Google+ so we can invite you to our hangout and share some of our upcoming projects with you. We'll be giving super insider sneak peaks that won't be on YouTube or anywhere else, and we can do questions and answers with the developers, so you won't want to miss it!

We're thinking about trying it out next week, so please get your Google+ account hooked up and follow us (just search for us by name Steve Castro and Jay Ziebarth). We'll announce a specific date and time a few days in advance so you can RSVP and let us know if you'll be there.

Almost done with the whole thing and really looking forward to launching this feature maybe next week. This is my favorite site feature so far! Check for a blog post soon on this new feature's launch.

I added some new forums and moved the Forums above the Latest Discussions section so you can more easily get to the area you're most interested in.

Also, I want to encourage people to write about themselves on their profiles, so we now allow 1000 characters of description instead of just 500. There's a new character counter under your description so you don't have to guess how far over the limit you are. Also, if there's a validation problem with what you submit, previously what you typed would be lost, but I fixed that to show what you typed even if it didn't save for whatever reason. Remember, you can put links in your description too.

Hey guys, I just had an idea. Send us a picture of yourself playing one of our games and we'll put 'em up on the site.

The idea is to play any ClickShake, Zeebarf or EntropicOrder game and have someone take a picture of your smiling face with the game in the background on our site, something a bit like this:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=403892509967&set=a.365653114967.206139.324224509967
Another idea is to photoshop yourself into a screenshot of the game, dress up as the character in your picture or something else creative!

Email the picture to us along with a short review of the game and a rating on a scale of 1-5, and we'll post the picture under the game you're reviewing, as well as on a big fan photo page that has everyone's. You can submit one for each game if you'd like. Let us know if you want your username associated with your image or if you prefer to be anonymous. Chapter 4 reviews are welcomed. :)

If you guys dig the idea I'll consider automating it so everyone can instantly upload their photos and reviews. It might be cool to have a thumbs up feature too where the most creative, funny, interesting pictures bubble to the top.
